MUSICAL STORYTELLING AND SONGS

Children explore, discover and interact with music and movement in this experiential learning program. This program features live folk music from countries around the world, nursery rhymes, musical stories to spur your child's imagination, chants and songs heard through America's neighborhoods and beyond.

Each class includes the following components: a welcome song, circle dances, dramatic play, instrument playing, interactive folk stories from around the world, games, creative movement, lullabies and a farewell song. Children will have the opportunity to move, sing, explore rhythm, create and improvise music! This class will also feature special musical guests and instrument demos from friends who play wild and crazy instruments.

This class is best suited for children who are between the ages of 1.5 and 6 years of age. Note: This class works best when the caregiver is participates in the activities along with the child(ren). Child(ren) must be accompanied by a caregiver for the duration of the class.

ABOUT THE TEACHER

Neha is a classically and jazz trained multi-instrumentalist and songwriter. Her experience working with children began 12 years ago, where she spent two years working with a Kindergarten music class in an inner city school outside Boston.

After moving to New York City in 2013, Neha had the pleasure of working with Grammy-award winning family musical artist Dan Zanes at The Brooklyn Conservatory of Music where she co-led a program for children called Dan Zanes House Party.

Neha is a colorful and vibrant educator. She loves working with children, and believes in the power of music and imagination as a tool for growth, development and learning.
